  • Notes
    • Born at 185 Highgate, Heaton. Attended Bradford Girls Grammar School. Trained as an infants' teacher at Leeds City Training College, graduating after two years of study in September 1929 and passing the probationary period to become a Certified Teacher in October 1930. She taught for several years, then went into the retail drapery trade, running a couple of shops for several years. When that became too much work for the reward, she returned to teaching for a few years, working at Meanwood Bentley Lane County Primary Infant's School, until retirement. She was a successful water-colour artist and did much research on the family history. She died at St James University Hospital, Leeds and was cremated at Airedale & Wharfedale Crematorium, Rawdon.
