  From the NSW Police Gazette, 31 Mar 1909: George Edward Hyde charged with forging a cheque for £30, purporting to be drawn by J.N. Harris, and uttering the same to P.J McGuire, has been arrested by Senior-constable Meek, Eden Police. Further charged with forging a cheque for £25 10s, purporting to be drawn by the said J.N. Harris, and uttering the same to William Scott. Committed for trial on both charges at Bega Sessions. Bail allowed. Convicted of Forgery and Uttering (putting forged currency into circulation). Sentenced to 12 months H.L. (Hard Labour), concurrent.
