Family 1 William Roney WILSON, b. Abt 1818 d. 26 Jan 1857 (Age ~ 39 years) Marriage 2 Jun 1854 Vizagapatam (Visakhapatnam), Madras, India [3] Notes - There must be a story behind the marriage of this couple. William was about 36 when he married Mary aged just 15. It seems probable that William had gotten Mary pregnant and married her prior to the birth, this being the honourable thing at the time. However we have to date not found a child born to the couple in the nine months following the marriage, so this theory remains unproven.
- William and Mary appear to have had at least two children. Charles Rooney (born 14 Sep 1855, Singapore, Bengal, India) and Harriet Isabella (born 16 Mar 1857, Vizagapatam, Madras, India).

Notes - James and Mary had at least these children: Ada Jane (or Ada June, born abt 1868), Mary (born abt 1872) and Isabella Harriet (born abt 1879). We suspect that James and Mary separated some time after the birth of Isabella, and that he then fathered Muriel (born abt 1894) and Daisy (born abt 1896) to Mercy Leishman who James eventually married not long after the death of Mary in 1897. James may also have been the father of a daughter named Jane (this based on the marriage record of Jane Cormac White, widow, father James Cormac, married Robert Stanley Craig at Podanur, Madras, India in 1907).
