    Notes:

Will was proved on 3 Oct 1616 . Burial entry in register says 'an old man and a peacemaker' (Catharine Pullein has 'ploe-maker' [plough maker] but notes that this is unlikely as he was a man of property, so I think 'peacemaker' is more plausible. Marriage not found on the IGI.

    Notes:

There are two identical records in the IGI in Film 178016 that state he was the son of Robert and Margaret.

Most fortunately, he left a will, dated 11 May 1589, details of which are provided by Catharine Pullein (1919, p. 585). He gave to his wife Margaret and his son Henrie his farmhold for life, and after Margaret's death all to go to Henrie. To Margaret he also gave her widow's third, and left legacies to his daughter Alysson and to her two children, to Elizabeth Hardistie, Thos. Rotherie, his son Henrie's two children, Humphrey Rotherie, Dorothy Thirket, and the children of Matthew Rotherie, and to Thomas Dunwell, with the residue to his son Henrie, whom he appointed as executor. Anthony Mawdewas appointed supervisor. Probate was granted on 2 Oct 1589.
