  Marriage	We have not yet found a marriage record for Edwin and Betsy. Betsy can be found in the 1901 UK census living in Bradford under the surname Milnes and reported as being single. With her are all six children (Ada and Amy under the name Milnes, the others under the name Hardaker). We think Edwin died early in 1901 (and before the census), so our assumption at this point is that Betsy was Edwin's common-law wife.
  Notes	We suspect that children Edwin and William may not actually belong to this couple. Both boys were recorded under the surname Cox in the 1891 census, and as cousins to Edwin senior. Possible birth registrations at Huddersfield under the names Edwin Andrew Cox (1887) and William Hardacre Cox (1889) can be found in the records, and could be this pair. Up to this point we have been unable to explain this rather odd situation. Copies of the actual birth certificates should help identify the true parents of Edwin (junior) and William.
