Notes - We have to date been unable to determine Jane's origins (date & place of birth, names of parents). A reasonably accurate year of birth from age recorded on a burial record would be helpful, but so far has not been found. From the civil records, which generally provide name and place only, we know that several Jane Hardakers died in and around Leeds during the likely time period (1810-1850), but without details of these deaths (eg, from certificates), we can't know whether any of these are this Jane. Given that Mark and Jane named their first child Joseph, presumably after Mark's father, and seemed quite determined to name their second child James, it is very possible that Jane's father was a James. The best candidate for a birth/baptism around 1773 (Mark's year of birth) anywhere in the central/northern part of England is the one noted above in Standish.
