  Our Family History - Research on our Pullein Ancestors Our link to the Pullein family comes through Mary Pullan, the wife of John Hardaker of Idle. Mary was born in Idle in 1786 and died there in 1854. She and John had ten children, among them Samuel Hardaker, father of John Lee Hardaker.

• Notes

  There are two identical records in the IGI in Film 178016 that state he was the son of Robert and Margaret. Most fortunately, he left a will, dated 11 May 1589, details of which are provided by Catharine Pullein (1919, p. 585). He gave to his wife Margaret and his son Henrie his farmhold for life, and after Margaret's death all to go to Henrie. To Margaret he also gave her widow's third, and left legacies to his daughter Alysson and to her two children, to Elizabeth Hardistie, Thos. Rotherie, his son Henrie's two children, Humphrey Rotherie, Dorothy Thirket, and the children of Matthew Rotherie, and to Thomas Dunwell, with the residue to his son Henrie, whom he appointed as executor. Anthony Mawdewas appointed supervisor. Probate was granted on 2 Oct 1589.
