  Of many candidates in the IGI the best looks like John son of John ch 20 Apr 1756 at Otley (C009353). There is also John son of Samuel ch. 29 Dec 1760 at Call Lane Independent Chapel, Leeds (C088791). However, Ted Garnett says the parents were as entered (his letter of 19 Mar 2001). This John was a clothier. There was a John Garnett clothier of Idle who owned property in Bradford who voted in the Poll for the Knights of the Shire in May/June 1807.
