Notes - We are not entirely certain that we have the right John Hardacre matched to the marriage of Jane More in 1770 because there were several John Hardacres born in the Long Preston parish area around the right time (1740-1750). We have settled on this one because he is the only one born a few years before Jane who we have not already matched to a different marriage, or who died as a child.
- We think John moved back to Long Preston after the untimely death of his wife Jane in 1776. John would have had two very young sons to care for, and quite probably moved back to Long Preston to seek family support in looking after the two young boys.
