  	We don't know when or where Elizabeth was born, or whether she was a spinster or widow on her marriage to John. We have been unable to find a baptism for an Elizabeth Howard anywhere in the Leeds/Bradford area between 1700 and 1710. She may have come from Prescot, Lancashire. We believe that she moved from Briggate, Leeds to the Guiseley area with her surviving children some time after the death of husband John in 1747. We do not know whether she had family in this area (certainly her husband did). There was a James Howard who baptised a daughter Mary at Guiseley in 1747, but it is not clear whether he and Elizabeth were related.

  Notes	It seems Elizabeth moved back to the Guiseley area, presumably to be close to family, following the untimely deaths of husband John and son James in 1747. The surviving children (John, Mary and William) appear to have married and lived in the Yeadon or Rawdon area.
